7 Things You Didn’t Know About Ivanka Trump

As the eldest daughter of Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump has spent her entire life in the spotlight. She remembers getting questions from the paparazzi about her dad as young as 9-years-old!

And while she’s currently making headlines in the political arena, there’s plenty about the businesswoman and mom of three that’s still surprising. Read up on the White House’s unofficial “First Daughter” and what really makes her so unprecedented.

Ivanka’s Only a Nickname

The second Trump child actually shares the same name as her mom, Ivana. “In Czech, Ivanka is the baby name for Ivana, like Bobby is to Robert,” she explained in a 2010 tweet.

She Modeled During High School

Ivanka attended the elite Chapin School in Manhattan before transferring at 15 to Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut. “I was all of a sudden in the prison of boarding-school life, and all my friends in New York were having fun,” she told Marie Claire in 2007. Modeling became an escape, although she admits she “didn’t particularly enjoy the act of it.”

She Shares an Alma Mater With Her Dad

After two years at Georgetown, Ivanka transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude with a degree in economics.

She’s Appeared on “Project Runway” and “Gossip Girl.”

Although she initially hesitated going on The Apprentice, Ivanka not only became a primary boardroom member, but later did a judging stint on the fashion reality competition and guest starred alongside her husband as themselves on the teen drama.

English isn’t Her Only Language

She learned French as a child and understands some Czech — but she claims to only remember the curse words!

She’s a Very Scheduled Mom

Her parenting style includes plenty of routines, according to her recent book Women Who Work. “I play with cars with Joseph, on the floor, for 20 minutes each day,” she wrote. “Arabella loves books, so I make a note to read at least two per day to her and plan ‘dates’ to the library. With Theodore, I commit to ensuring that I can give him two to three of his bottles each day and rock him to sleep at night.”
